The cemetery in Straubing (St. Peter) is one of the most beautiful and historically significant places in the city. Among old gravestones, weathered monuments, and mighty trees, you immediately feel the special atmosphere of this place. The grounds are very well-kept, quiet, and invite you to take a moment to pause. The historical burial fields are particularly impressive, telling a piece of Straubing's history while also showing how lovingly the cultural heritage is treated here. A dignified, peaceful place - ideal for a quiet walk or just to find some calm.

The historic cemetery of St. Peter is just a few minutes' walk from downtown Straubing. But the journey is worth it; not only because of the Romanesque basilica and the chapel with the epitaph for Agnes Bernauer. This cemetery, with its old moss-covered gravestones, exudes a romantic-melancholic to morbid atmosphere, especially in the cold season. By the way, you can access more information about significant graves via QR code.

Discovered by chance while walking. We're not typical cemetery-goers, but this visit was worth it. An almost film-worthy setting. Very impressive graves, truly historical and artistically worth seeing. Check it out if you're in the area.

The cemetery and the many graves are very impressive and really captivate you. Some gravestones still have legible inscriptions that provide a glimpse into the lives of the deceased. Although I'm not from Straubing, I will inquire about a guided tour - especially since you can visit the churches that are closed due to vandalism. Without a guide, you can only open the door a crack.

One of the most beautiful cemeteries I have ever visited. Years ago, all the buildings in the cemetery were still open for viewing - now you can only see them through a gate. Unfortunately, respect and consideration are no longer a given, which is why it is no longer publicly accessible, to protect against vandalism.
